My Secret Friend
I recently wrapped a webseries called “My Secret Friend” with ThinkIt! Productions. A truly innovative and special project, we caught the eye of backstage.com, who featured an interview and article on us. Check it out!
This project, essentially, worked backwards. Instead of giving the actors a script, we were cast without characters, and spent a week creating them with improv and a brilliant director, Francesco Campari. In addition, we were all randomly assigned diseases or conditions of some sort, to give us one solid thing to root our characters in. Three writers watched all of our improv work, took away the people they saw evolving in front of them, and wrote the script. A week later, we filmed.
See a little bit more about my character, Catelyn.
To everyone who created and worked on this project- thank you for a very special experience!
Foreplay!
I’ll be appearing with the fantastic Jeff Todesco in “Foreplay”, a series of one acts by Sean Micheal Rice this summer in Brooklyn as part of the 4th annual BoCoCa Arts Festival!
New Headshots!
Where’s My Money
I recently closed a fantastic production of John Patrick Shanley’s “Where’s My Money” at the Cherry Lane Studio with Animus Theatre Company- a group of pretty friggin awesome people. (www.animustheatre.org). See what the reviews had to say!
“A quirky and off-beat Natalie (Amy Northup) used her deep dark secret and social awkwardness to induce many laugh.” (http://dougmarino.blogspot.com/2012/01/wheres-my-money.html)
“A very winning Amy Northup!” (http://blogcritics.org/culture/article/theater-review-nyc-wheres-my-money/)
Keep your eyes peeled for what’s up next!
